Cruise Lines · Maritime Hospitality

A razor that holds the line on your plastic-free fleet commitments.

Cruise lines have removed hundreds of millions of single-use plastic items — straws, bottles, amenity miniatures — and publish the numbers in their sustainability reports. The cabin razor is one of the few plastic items left. The Nomad by GSA is a zero-plastic bamboo disposable razor built to close that gap: fully biodegradable, bulk-supplied, and ready for vendor-portal procurement.

32%

Of plastic waste reaches the ocean

US EPA figures — and no industry is closer to that outcome than maritime hospitality. A razor that biodegrades removes the risk entirely.

400 yrs

Plastic razor lifespan

A conventional plastic razor persists for centuries and fragments into microplastics. The Nomad's bamboo handle composts; its steel blade oxidizes safely.

~500k

Units per 20ft container

Fleet-scale supply with freight-efficient bulk packing. Standard MOQ 100,000 units — roughly one-fifth of a container.

The last plastic item on the cabin vanity

Operators like Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line have publicly eliminated plastic straws fleet-wide and removed millions of plastic amenity containers a year. Those programmes work because each swap is a drop-in: same guest experience, different material. The Nomad extends the same logic to the razor — a true disposable with the weight, balance and twin-blade shave of the plastic SKU it replaces.

Guests don't change behaviour, housekeeping doesn't change process, and the sustainability team gets to strike another line off the single-use plastic register.

Made for maritime environmental scrutiny

Cruise environmental commitments are audited harder than almost any hospitality segment — by regulators, ports, and passengers. The Nomad stands up to that scrutiny because there is nothing hidden in it: a high-density pressed bamboo handle with no lacquers or films, an S304 stainless-steel blade held by mechanical tension, and a compostable kraft paper pouch. 0.00% plastic, by design.

Peer-reviewed studies also show natural bamboo carries compounds that inhibit bacterial growth — a meaningful secondary benefit in high-occupancy, shared-facility environments (a material property, not a substitute for sanitation protocols).

Procurement-ready supply

We supply cruise lines directly and through amenity distributors, and we're set up for supplier-portal onboarding and vendor documentation requests. Line branding can be laser-etched into the handle, and the paper pouch custom-printed with brand colours and regulatory text using water-based inks on recycled or FSC-certified stock.

Standard MOQ is 100,000 units with lower volumes workable on request with special pricing terms — enough for a single-ship trial before a fleet rollout. Request samples and a landed-cost quote through the enquiry form.
